Microsoft Dynamics NAV Helps Boost Sales of Wire Rope Corporation Philippines
Wire Rope Corporation Philippines (WRCP) has been manufacturing wire ropes in Philippines since 1963. One of the top wire rope manufacturers in the country, it has earned BRS 150:9001:2008 in 2012 for its quality commitment. Last May 2018, its certification has been upgraded to ISO 9001:2015. Since its inception, it has been producing and distributing wire ropes, fishing ropes, messenger ropes, lift gears, wire rope dressings, cable restrainer, grommet and webbing strings used in construction, oil exploration and telecommunications. Recently, it has also started exporting its products to nearby Asian countries like Indonesia. They also provide services like proof loading, socketing, long splicing, and non-destructive testing.
Government Requirement Drives Automation
Driven by the requirement of Bureau of Internal Revenue to comply with the government’s computerized accounting system in 2014, they decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics NAV. “Coming from a purely manual system, we encountered many challenges in implementing a computerized accounting system,” says Mr. Jose “Pepper” Nakpil, WRCP’s IT Manager. “Most of the staff has been with the company since the very beginning. The biggest hurdles were the difficulty of our existing staff in learning the User Interface and the language in error messages and documentation. This led to slow encoding and processing of transactions. We started to produce backlogs,” continues Nakpil.
Overcoming Obstacles for a Successful ERP Implementation
Determined to have a successful ERP project implementation, WRCP hired additional staff who were younger and more adept with computers. This move gave a positive outcome. They soon realized the benefit of an automated system. In previous years, it took them at least 3 months to prepare their audited financial statements. After implementing Dynamics NAV, they are now able to perform this task half the time. And they expect to even make it shorter in the coming years. In 2014, their annual sales turnover was 100 Million. Four years later, they have successfully quadruple their sales to 400 Million. Microsoft Dynamics NAV equipped WRCP to provide better service to their customers and grow their customer base without increasing their manpower.
